Pray for Wisdom
Pray for Wisdom
I am a self proclaimed Christian who declares that Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior. Hurray my ticket to heaven is now punched and open up those pearly gates because I want my piece of the ever after. I go to church on a semi-regular basis sometimes for months at a time. I thought this is something that I have to do to be a “good” Christian. That is the exact attitude that holds me and many other people back in there spiritual and personal lives.
I have often heard others and have done so myself, pray for wisdom. I would be lying in my bed late at night and recite something similar to the following “God, it’s me again, I come before you with many needs, but could you please provide me some wisdom so that I can know what it is you want me to do. Look at me the “good” Christian saying his prayers, kind of like putting a quarter in the candy claw machine and being guaranteed to get a sugary treat. That prayer sounds reasonable; I’m not praying for money, or material items but the thing is I didn’t even realize what I was praying for.
I learned over the weekend what wisdom actually is. Wisdom is being able to apply what you know in your head, allow it to manifest itself in your heart, and be summoned without thought when needed. The thing is wisdom is not just having knowledge but applying that knowledge in the correct circumstances.
Wisdom would be given that homeless man you pass on the street a dollar bill, inviting that widow to your house for a Holiday Meal, or just doing any unselfish act because it is as Christians what we have been commanded to do. As I write this I’ve discovered praying for wisdom may have been one of the most dangerous things I could have done. Praying for wisdom could result in many things I need to do as God will give you that which you ask for, even if it is not in the way you intended it.
My Hope for the New Year approaching is that we all pray for wisdom that would require us all to be responsible to one another, the way God intended it.

Wouldn’t you like to be a Pepper to?
I’m a Pepper, She’s a Pepper wouldn’t you like to be a Pepper to? The Dr Pepper Company announced in March that if Guns n Roses released the Chinese Democracy Album that they would give free Dr. Pepper to everybody in America.
The Album officially goes on sale this Sunday. Dr. Pepper will honor the promise they made and will offer coupons for a free 20 oz Dr Pepper on there home page starting Sunday at 12:01 am and it will be available for 24 hours to download the coupon.
I am curious, How many coupons Forrest Gump would download? You saw him drinking all those Dr Peppers when he was an All American visiting the White House. I have not drank Soda Pop in 2 years but am going to get one just because I find it amusing to start with why Dr Pepper would even care about Chinese Democracy.

Are you talking to me?
Robert Deniro would definetly be asking this question in todays world.
You use to be able to tell who the crazy people were when walking through town. They would be the one’s talking to themselves and everyone knew to keep clear of them. Nowadays it’s a lot harder to tell because of wireless blue tooth head phones.
Just the other day someone was behind me speaking to themselves and I thought hey this is one of those down town crazies, only to later recognize they had a blue tooth head set, I still kept my distance as I hate people who talk on those in public very loud attracting attention to themselves.
I have also ran into real crazies on the street whom I thought had a blue tooth device to later verify that they were indeed crazy. In conclusion while in town it’s best just to keep to yourself and stay out of peoples affairs all together, and definitely don’t ask them are you talking to me?
